Two of the UK’s greatest and highly awarded jazz singers return to St Johns, the scene of their sparkling debut in 2017 celebrating the life and music of the great Ella Fitzgerald, for another night of magical music making.
Multi award winning singer/pianist Liane Carroll, voted Best Vocalist in the British Jazz Awards 2016, is known not only for her heartfelt and soulful interpretation of music from the 20th Century, but also for her razor sharp wit and infectious sense of joie de vivre.

Vocalist Claire Martin, awarded OBE for her Services to Jazz in 2011 and winner of the British Jazz Awards on seven occasions — including Best Vocal this year,over her 30 year career is a Linn recording artist and BBC Radio 3 broadcaster. Her performances range from orchestral concerts at the Proms, to intimate duo reviews at The Other Palace.

Trumpeter Martin Shaw is one of Europe’s top jazz soloists and is highly respected and in great demand. Martin has worked with Liane and Claire for many years and this is a wonderful chance to hear him in such a unique and intimate setting.
Liane and Claire together promise an evening of spell binding solo and duo renditions of classic jazz standards stylishly reworked mixed with more contemporary favourites with a modern twist.
